Favorite Class at NDNU
My favorite class at NDNU was my Stress In A Work Place with Professor Madden. This was such a fun class to be in as my classmates were awesome and Dr. Madden really made the class enjoyable to learn. This really gave me the continued pursuit to learn and have the ability to inspire others with that love. This class made me demonstrate a lot of skills that I had to hone throughout this course. She had us test ourselves with team building concepts, communication aspects, and finding deeper feelings that could be expressed through multiple ways.
This class challenged me to think outside the box, figure out new ways to solve things, and work on ourselves to become better than we think we are. My favorite part of the class was when I had to create a lesson plan for the class on how to identify and help reduce stress in a colorful activity. My objectives was to show and tell the class about how working with colors have special attributes which can trigger specific emotions and help with cooling off stress. I talked about how we can respond to various colors which have certain meanings to us as one color can mean different things. We are surrounded by colors that we can be attracted to for example with what clothes we decide to wear, coloring pictures, or connecting colors with objects such as food, taste, sights, and even sounds.
Heres some examples of colors that can have a meaning for us:
Blue - a color which can be calming or sad and usually tied to water which can mean life
Green - a natural color which is connected to growth and healing
Black - a deep color that is mysterious and complex as it is simple
Yellow - a bright and energizing color
Orange - a powerful and creative color
Brown - an earthy solid color which is like a foundation or tree that keeps you grounded
Gray - a mature color often portrayed as neutral or balanced
White - a clean, pure, and clear color that can give clarity or a heavenly feeling
Red - the most fiery of colors that can help fire you up with anger or fill your heart with love
